Cake boxes

We (my sister and I ) have spent the afternoon battling the light from a stormy sky to try and capture these cute boxes The results vary, but in real life the boxes are quite pretty, and they smell great as they contain tiny vanilla/honey cakes! Not real cakes, soap cakes :) We have these soaps in some sweet new colours as well-maybe more pics tomorrow weather permitting!
Some new 'flavours'

Parcels all arriving ok!

Duck Egg Heart

Well my fears were allayed, and everyones parcel has arrived safely so thats great-well one hasnt but we've sorted that out - it was en route to the USA. Its the only one this year so far that went missing. Well three new moulds have arrived this week and I shall post the results asap- two childs soap moulds and one fancy floral one. I have had a few Victorian hearts to make this week, and have veered toward a tiny bit more green to make a true Duck Egg blue, they all came out beautifully I am happy to say, with copper flowers. I am feeling the urge for some special moisturiser and that kind of thing this week as the weather turns ever more Wintry, you know when you can feel it in your skin? Well last year I remember I was using products from Maia Skincare which are my most very favourite- a bit like the Liz Earle range but in my opinion better. I must get onto that site and order some more for this winter-they have balms and potions to die for! And they smell amazing too. Body lotion I can get away without using because of the special ingredients in handmade soap, but I sometimes suffer from dry skin on my face where the weather gets me when I am out with the horses and dogs.
I find myself relying on 'smells' a little more now its colder, also as a pick-me-up, I am using a honeysuckle soap in my bath, taking turns with a lavender bar, and a hazelnut bar.

New fragrances

I love the new allergen-free fragrances that I will be using this year! They arrived last week and I have made a couple of batches using them. My favourites are the Sweet Milk and the Sweet Lavender, I just cannot stop smelling the soaps that I have made using them. I also adore the Hazelnut and Honey, it discolours the soap, but the resulting shade is lovely and suitable for the fragrance. My fiance even likes that one, he thinks it smells like freshly baked shortbread, and he usually does not have much interest in smelling the soaps. The floral blends that I have chosen are delicate and very pleasant and I am really looking forward to using them all for my flowery soaps. I have chosen to use Vanilla Sugar for a set of Victorian Cakes for my Etsy shop, the cakes naturally turn a lovely creamy brown and I dust them with shimmery pearl, just to accentuate the tiny details. I will be starting to make a few more guest soap designs next week-pictures will follow!

My heart is in a treasury!

I am delighted to discover that another Etsy member Big A Little A has featured my Black Sugar heart in her treasury . I took a picture of it as it is a really pretty one. Its an honour to be featured beside such talented artists as well. Here is the link but it may disappear at any time. http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=28948
